About Families Change

PTLA logoWe offer age-appropriate information to help kids, teens and parents deal with a family break up. Justice Education Society of British Columbia and Pine Tree Legal Assistance collaborated to create this Maine version of "Families Change." Along the way, family counselors, guidance counselors, psychologists, lawyers, parents, teens and kids all contributed their skills and insights to create this content.

Looking for more detailed legal information? Go to Pine Tree Legal's Maine Divorce and Unmarried Parents self-help page. And you will find more links to PTLA's legal information as you browse this site.

"Families Change" offers you valuable tips and general information about dealing with family break ups. It does not offer legal advice. Each person’s family is different. For this reason this site does not replace the specialized guidance of lawyers, family counselors and other professionals.
